The beauty and perfume of Cabernet Franc is complimented by the sophistication and refinement of Cabernet Sauvignon, and the colour, spice and structure of Petit Verdot.

A beautiful violet fragrance and complex aromas of brambly blackcurrants and blackberries, intermingled with hints of dried herbs, fresh cedar, anise, sweet spices, vanilla, and toast.

There is excellent concentration and purity of flavour on the palate with a vibrant core of black fruit flavour wrapped in cedary, toasty oak

About Trinity Hill Wines

In 1993, having recognised the outstanding potential of the Hawke’s Bay’s Gimblett Gravels winegrowing district, Trinity Hill became one of the region’s early pioneers, planting grapevines on a barren plot which continues to produce exceptional wines today.

True to our roots, we pride ourselves on crafting especially food friendly wines made from the classic varieties Hawke’s Bay has become internationally recognised for, these being Syrah, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with several varieties that Hawke’s Bay is lesser known for, such Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.

We also produce wines from varieties which are rarely, if at all, planted in New Zealand, such as Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier, Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Francesa. Our wines are made using traditional techniques, sometimes even including foot stomping, or pigeage.

Chief Winemaker Warren Gibson has led the Trinity Hill winemaking and vineyard teams since 1997 and is recognised as one of Hawke’s Bay’s, most experienced and successful winemakers. The vintages he has produced since arriving at Trinity Hill have earned him the accolades of New Zealand Winemaker of the Year (Winestate Magazine, 2005), and Winemaker of the Year (Mercedes Benz Hawke’s Bay Wine Show, 2006).

Hancocks

The Hancocks name traces its origins back to 1859 when Thomas Hancock purchased the Captain Cook Inn in Khyber Pass Road Newmarket. Hancocks originally started life as a brewer and publican. The company went through many changes in its first 100 years, including the manufacture and distribution of spirits. Over the course of years the company changed names several times with the core of the company being the basis of what we now know as Lion.
