Rule No.4: Take calculated risks

Leaving grapes out to succumb to natural botrytis (Noble Rot) is risky, but we reckon we’ve managed to pull it off by selecting our parcels “little and often”.

The reward to such risk is a sweet little wine with lashings of apricot and citrus flavours, and perfect acidity.

This late harvest style Riesling is extremely concentrated and viscous.

Rule #1: Do what you love

Enjoy with a selection of cheeses or as an aperitif

‘Big, syrupy and concentrated dessert riesling in a beerenauslese style with honey, honeycomb, and exotic tropical fruit flavours supported by assertive natural acidity. Very strong botrytis influence’.

Framingham Noble Riesling is a sweet, botrytis affected wine inspired by the classic German “Beerenauslese”style. Botrytis is a fungus that concentrates sugars in the fruit by dehydration and imparts distinctive flavours. The wine is deeply concentrated, yet elegant and not cloying as a result of its vibrant acidity and naturally low alcohol

We planted our first vines in the Wairau Valley in 1981, and we’ve been growing grapes and making wine by our own rules ever since. Taking the best of what we learn from the F-Series and incorporating it into the Framingham range, these full-flavoured wines embody subtle nuances, balanced minerality, and mouth-filling textures.

Nobodys Hero Launch Party was filmed in the Framingham Underground Space. A music video to celebrate individuals. Our winery band have covered the original Stiff Little Fingers version of Nobodys Hero.
