About Menhir Salento Wines

The winery Menhir Salento is to be found in the marvellous Salento region, at the southern end of Apulia (Italy’s “heel of the boot”), a territory in the heart of the Mediterranean facing Greece and Albania. Its founder Gaetano Marangelli was fascinated by this uncontaminated nature that develops around Otranto and started here, in 2002 his adventurous project. Today the property covers 65 hectares divided into small parcels where the vineyards are managed using both integrated and organic methods.

Its most characteristic native grapes are: Primitivo, Negroamaro and Susumaniello. Thanks to the passion and commitment the company is now synonymous with Apulian wines around the world that have come to epitomize the territory in which they are born.
