Framingham Pinot Noir 2019 Vegan Friendly (6 Bottles) Marlborough

by Wines By Cellars 0 orders

Mulberries, spiced cherries, dark plums, dried earth and nutmeg on the nose. Some black pepper, too. It’s medium-to full-bodied with sleek tannins and a juicy, creamy palate. Flavorful, spiced and textured. 92 points James Suckling

Rule No.2: Go your own way

Sweetly fruited Pinot Noir is world famous in Marlborough, but we’ve made it our own by including a few whole bunches. It’s a tricky process, and much more labour-intensive, but when done well it turns the wine to velvet. The stems build silkier tannins and lend a heavenly fragrance. Our final twist is a turn in a smoky oak barrel. Just long enough to add a few layers of savoury and spice complexity to those classic cranberry, cherry and plum fruit flavours.

Rule #1: Do what you love

Fruit comes from four sites in the Wairau Valley, with a mixture of clones being represented. Each parcel was hand –picked and vinified separately; the amount of whole bunch included and time on skins varied according to parcel. Overall the wine has about 10% whole bunch content, an average of 20 days on skins and was aged in French oak barriques for 10 months, of which around 20% were new. Bottled without fining or filtration.

Earthy nose, subtle oak, reminiscent of smoked meat, with light floralsand vibrant light red fruits. Subtle dark cherry and red berry flavors with savoury mineral/ graphite-likenotes. Fine, well integrated and delicate tannin structure.

About Framingham

We planted our first vines in the Wairau Valley in 1981, and we’ve been growing grapes and making wine by our own rules ever since. Taking the best of what we learn from the F-Series and incorporating it into the Framingham range, these full-flavoured wines embody subtle nuances, balanced minerality, and mouth-filling textures.

Nobodys Hero Launch Party was filmed in the Framingham Underground Space. A music video to celebrate individuals. Our winery band have covered the original Stiff Little Fingers version of Nobodys Hero.
