Duet is a play between light and shade.

Whole bunch Pinot noir from Mangatahi provides the beauty and elegance, while Syrah from Bridge Pā exhibits spice and depth.

Blueberry, boysenberry and dark cherry aromas are followed by pepper, lavender and rosemary. Wholebunch smokiness starts the palate, and black plum flavours take over. A dry, fresh red wine with a beautiful subtlety of flavour and fine tannin.

Handpicked Pinot noir was 100% whole bunch fermented for 14 days with a couple of light stomps. The Syrah was gently destemmed to open top fermenters with 15% wholebunch included.

Naturally fermented and minimally handled, the parcels were pressed to old barriques at sugar dryness. Left to undergo natural malolactic fermentation and matured for four months at cool temperatures before being racked to tank for bottling.

No fining or filtration. Minimal sulphur was added two weeks before bottling.
