Mt Difficulty Wines McFelin Ridge Chardonnay (6 Bottles) Central Otago

by Wines By Cellars 0 orders

“The riper characters of McFelin Ridge come through with stonefruit and ripe red apple notes sitting amongst freshly baked sourdough bread aromas with a touch of salinity. The wine opens with supple, textural nectarine followed by red apples. A lovely, lithe line of acid drives the palate, but never dominates. Fine ripe phenolics envelope the wines acidity. Lovely linearity and poise.” – Matt Dicey, Winemaker

We are best known for some of the oldest vineyard sites in the unique microclimate of Bannockburn, Central Otago, as well as our sister label Roaring Meg. We grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc.

We are comprised of many vineyards, spanning Central Otago from Gibbston, to Lowburn Valley, to Bendigo, with our home still under the mountain at Bannockburn. Central Otago provides New Zealand’s only ‘continental’ style climate combined with unique soils ideally suited for growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris.

Yet we continue to push the limits of what we are capable of, with experimental plantings of Chenin Blanc and Syrah.
