Nobody’s Hero Marlborough Pinot Gris is a flavorsome, satisfying wine made in the Framingham way. Here, we prefer a generous style with subtle layers of complexity. Wine for those who just want to be themselves.
WINE MAKING
Grapes from each vineyard are picked as late as possible, when the flavors start to get interesting, without becoming completely over-ripe. One parcel of fruit was given extended time on skins to impart texture and flavor. Fermentation is carried out in a mixture of stainless steel (85%) and old French barrels (15%).
TASTE
Aromas of red apple, pears, and spice. Flavours of baked apple, pear and nectarine. Generous and lively on the palate with a persistent finish. Easy to drink on its own, or to match with food.
FOOD MATCH
Rich pork dishes, or roast chicken and salmon.
We planted our first vines in the Wairau Valley in 1981, and we’ve been growing grapes and making wine by our own rules ever since. Taking the best of what we learn from the F-Series and incorporating it into the Framingham range, these full-flavoured wines embody subtle nuances, balanced minerality, and mouth-filling textures.
